Week of November 21, 2016
The Maison de la Culture, located in the Tahitan capital, has created this dance competition which is different from the famous "Heiva i Tahiti", as the "Hura Tapairu" is a traditional dancing competition dedicated to small dance groups.  These small groups cannot take part of the "Heiva" because the competition rules set a minimum number of 72 dancers per group.  Indeed, this competition was created 10 years ago to allow small groups of dancers to compete and compare their skill levels.  It promotes traditional dancing not only for some of the best known Tahitian dance groups, but also for groups from around the world.  For more information, please contact Maison de la Culture at 011 (689) 40 54 45 44 or email: communication@maisondelaculture.pf
